Species Specific FAQ

Is this species suitable for a peaceful community aquarium?
That depends on adult size, feeding behavior, and general temperament. Researching the specific fish and planning tank mates carefully is always the safer approach.

What kind of food works best?
Most uncommon catfish do best on a mix of quality sinking prepared foods plus frozen or live foods suited to their mouth size and feeding style.

Does this fish need cover?
Yes. Wood, plants, rockwork, and shaded areas often help catfish feel secure and behave more naturally.

What are good tank mates?
Tank mates should be chosen based on size, temperament, and feeding competition rather than appearance alone.
