Jubilee

A thought-provoking work of art by Gerald Ivey. He describes one of his latest creations in the following words:

Through guilt and mental suffering this white man destroyed his own soul. The black lynchings on his clothes is the weight on his conscience that lynched him. The white man created the Pickaninnies but now what he created is celebrating his death. The rabbit is symbolic of, It ain’t no fun when the rabbit got the gun. What he killed is now killing him through his own consciience.
