The Catechetical Homilies

The Catechetical Homilies contains spiritual teachings given by St. Theodore the Studite to guide monks in the life of repentance, obedience, humility, prayer, and perseverance. It speaks about the narrow path that leads to eternal life and encourages the reader to endure struggles with hope in the Kingdom of God. The homilies show the importance of living in peace, guarding the soul from sin, and turning away from the vain distractions of this life. They also teach the value of brotherly love, poverty, self-control, and faithfulness to the commandments of Christ. Through these catechetical instructions, St. Theodore strengthens those who desire to live a life pleasing to God. This book is a guide for anyone seeking repentance, spiritual courage, and a deeper commitment to the Christian life. For the first time, presented in it's entirety in English, this book is worthy addition to all Christian book collections. Read more
